Transforming Claude into a personal email assistant

Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol allows Claude Desktop to discover and execute local and remote tools. By connecting Claude to SadaSend, you can instruct Claude in natural language to send transactional updates, verify DNS records, or draft customer notices.

Because SadaSend keys are scoped, Claude cannot accidentally wipe out your account or email unauthorized addresses outside your team allowlist.

Configuring claude_desktop_config.json

Open your Claude Desktop configuration file (located at ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json on macOS or %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json on Windows).

JSON
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "sadasend": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@sadasend/mcp-server"],
      "env": {
        "SADASEND_API_KEY": "sada_agent_sk_3Zt8...QwG"
      }
    }
  }
}

Available Tools in Claude

Once connected, Claude automatically gains access to tools including:

  • send_email: Dispatches transactional email with recipient allowlist verification.
  • get_delivery_status: Checks delivery, bounce, and open status for message IDs.
  • verify_domain_dns: Diagnostic tool to inspect SPF, DKIM, and DMARC status.
